Understanding Behavior is a professional organization of providers that specializes in individuals with developmental disabilities.
We deliver services all over the Western region as well as nationally, with corporate offices in San Francisco, Boston and Charleston, South Carolina. Our providers include Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who work across a variety of settings including adult residential facilities, youth group homes, private family residences, day programs, supported living environments and military bases. We also have a strong focus on working with infants and young children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder through our home-based Early Intervention Services.

Our Mission
To provide all families with children who have special needs the opportunity to improve the independence, inclusion, and overall quality of life of their child. We do this through evidence-based, pragmatic treatment, consultation and teaching based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Looking for CE Units?
We are an approved provider of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for BCBA and BCaBA professionals, and we are certified to provide CEU credit courses for LCSWs, MFT psychotherapists and licensed psychologists in the State of California.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based practical science that can help children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities experience more success and better manage frustrations that have led to difficult behaviors in the past. 
ABA Therapy may be an approved benefit through your health insurance provider. Benefit coverage can vary, however a growing number of insurance companies now offer plans that cover the cost of services for children in a wide range of areas. Plans we accept include TriCare, United Behavioral Health, Aetna, Blue Shield of California, Magellan Behavioral Health and Premera Blue Cross-Microsoft. 
We work closely with families and the circles of support for individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities. In addition to providing behavior consultation, we assist families in traversing the healthcare, school and social systems to obtain the most opportunities for the unique needs of their children.
