Marilin Colón, Ph.D., BCBA-D
Dr. Colón obtained her Master of Science in Psychology in 1998 and her Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2006. Both degrees were granted at Florida State University under the tutelage of Jon Bailey, PhD, BCBA. Dr. Colón became a Certified Behavior Analyst in Florida in 1994 and a National Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2001. She is a member of the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis, the California Association for Behavior Analysis and the Association for Behavior Analysis International.

Dr. Colón began her career as a behavior analyst providing behavior consultation services for severely emotionally disturbed adolescents in both a residential program and school setting. During her graduate training, Dr. Colón further developed her applied treatment of behavior principles by providing consultation services for children in regular and special education classrooms, as well as developmentally disabled children and adults in the community.

Since 1992, Dr. Colón has also been responsible for the supervision of the design, implementation, and evaluation of Applied Behavior Analysis procedures in the early intervention treatment of children with Autism, Asperger’s and Pervasive Developmental Disorder. Dr. Colón is currently the Behavior Division President of Understanding Behavior, Inc., where she is responsible for supervising all behavior consultants and overseeing the quality of behavioral services to all client accounts.
