Our skilled providers offer behavior-focused consultation to children and adults, families and parents, organizations and other professionals seeking tools, guidance and training in autism spectrum disorders or other developmental disabilities.
Families & Parents
Integral to our services is work with families of people diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder or another developmental disability. Parent and family training in the particular challenges faced by an individual are key to a successful outcome. Our services are fully covered by many insurance providers.
We offer ongoing monthly consultation to residential and day programs that need behavior expertise to provide the finest care to their residents and to fulfill the licensing requirements of Regional Centers, Brokerages, state and other local agencies.
Understanding Behavior is a California Regional Center “vendored” provider of behavior consultation services. As a vendor, UBI may work directly with consumers of a Regional Center as well as with other organizations that receive Regional Center funding.
As an NPA-approved provider for school-based behavior consultation services, all professionals at Understanding Behavior are qualified to provide teacher/administrator behavior counsel, written behavior plans, assistance with IEPs, support with student placement as well as educational trainings about how to work with challenging behavior.
CEUs are vital to maintaining licensing and certification for all psychology professionals. Understanding Behavior is an approved provider of CEUs for psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), and Adult Residential Facility Administrators.
Upon request, UBI can provide custom-tailored educational seminars and training events. These trainings cover a wide variety of areas within the field of psychology and social services including: applied behavior analysis (ABA); mental health or illness; family supports; services to individuals diagnosed on the autism spectrum or with a developmental disability; direct care staff/administration; and many other topics.
Case Management services are provided to every family we serve in an effort to engage, support and integrate families into treatment in addition to facilitating communication among the child’s support team.
